Heres my adventure with probably the worst piece of software ever.
I install office 2007 enterprise on my machine.
    I use it for pptx,etc.
I go to use a mailto link today from chrome, which always directed it to a fancy Gmail compose window...Not anymore!

Outlook,a program that makes zero sense to a Gmail user, takes it,pops open about five different windows asking for info and tipping, etc.

I'm not happy with this...so I go into change defaults settings to disable it as you would with any program. . . . . .(Note slow dots)...Why on earth are all options grayed out,I opened it in admin, same thing, none of the other non office programs are grayed out.

So...maybe the setting is in the program..well after seeing the most horfic menus I have ever seen,I found the no mailto option...guess what,I click it,close, still does it...I look...it re-ticks it's self.

    Hello OOffice.
BTW,yes I tried the mailto: Chrome extension...did not work then, works like a charm now...with office gone.

I have zero problems with Outlook 2007 and mailto links in any browser. You might have messed up something.

I have no such problem either. Just configure your Default Programs. Mailto protocol must be set to Outlook, change it to Chrome or whatever you want to use.

Yeah, no problems like that either. Like wave said, check out your Default Programs and see whats checked.
