    If you upgrade to 7, whats in the windows.old folder?

    Topic. Is it like your documents or like everything ur previous OS had, like Program Files, Windows Files, everything?

    Pretty much. It's useful if you want to recover save files from any games you play, or anything you forgot to backup. Once you're certain you have everything you need, feel free to shift+delete it.

    thanks man, so if i upgrade with all the programs i have now, will the program files be moved to the new OS folders or stay in the windows.old folder?

    If you install new software on your Windows 7 OS, then they will be installed in the normal Windows and Program Files folders under C:/. The Windows.old folder is for reference only.
