I just wanted to try Paragon System Backup to compare against Acronis so that's what I did. I plugged in my 1TB Seagate GoFlex as the destination of snapshots as said by Paragon. I thought it would not take that long but it did so I cancelled the process because I had to turn off my notebook and head to work. And then all of a sudden, when I turned on my notebook, the following text appeared 'bootmgr is missing, please restart computer'. I did my research about the damaged or corrupted mbr problem by inserting by windows recovery CD and accessing the command prompt and typing the bootsect /nt60 SYS /mbr, bootsect /nt60 ALL /mbr, and fixed the startup. Fortunately, I was able to boot up my notebook normally. However, when I plugged my external hard drives (I have three), pen drives, none of them were detected! It says in the taskbar that they are inserted but without their designated drive letter and the remaining capacity they have. After several tries, the pen drives worked eventually but the external drives still didn't I read several forums and guides about the disk management thing like making deactivating and reactivating it, etc. but none of them worked. I also tried renaming them with a new drive letter but it required me to reformat them which I couldn't do because they have important files. I tried plugging them to other computers/notebooks and they worked just fine but mine didn't. I am worried because I think the main thing that caused this problem had something to do with Paragon. Like if the mbr problem wasn't solved in my external hard drives. Please help me guys, I am running out of ideas and options :(

    Thanks in advance...

I read about firewire 1394 which is missing in my device manager. I read that without which things can mess up like reading your external hard drive, is this true?
