OK. This has been driving me crazy for months, and it has to be something I'm doing wrong. There has to be a way to pick and choose which photos to import off of a camera in Windows 7 like there is with XP. XP always brings up thumbnails and lets me choose. Windows 7 gives me no options other than tagging and location. What am I doing wrong?![]()
Thanks

The first thing you are doing wrong is trying to make something much more complicated than it is.
I assume that you conect your camera to the PC; it shows up as a drive in Computer. Just go there and grab the photos you need and delete the ones you do not need.
There is no need to import anything - that is a habit from XP times where no one had card readers and stuff like that. -
The only problem with doing it manually as you suggested is, the photos will not be tagged. Using the import wizard in XP renames the photos and put them in a folder of my choice. I'm sometimes dealling with 100's of photos, and it's so simple in XP. With Windows 7, unless I'm missing something, I have to import every single photo, then delete them off my HD.

I think windows photo gallery or live photo gallery have similar function.

Yep, like Yejun said, Windows Photo Gallery. They included it with Vista, then removed it from Windows 7 along with other "Windows Live" stuff. Now, you can download it from Microsoft:
