I'm just looking for a good, free, no BS registry cleaner. Typically with most types of software there is a handful of ones that people swear by but I haven't quiet seen that with this. Whatever, I'm just curious what you use and what is out there, I need to clean up my registry.

Meh, no, it needs to be freeware (I have a few reasons for this, I won't bore you with them though).

There is also RegCleaner. Safe as CCleaner (has backup option), finds different faults.

    +1 for CCleaner.
Also, try using NTRegopt to optimize your registry size.
I find it's quite useful, but it doesn't delete anything.

registry cleaners alot of times delete stuff that shouldn't be deleted.

I hate to say it, but just go into regedit. LOOK FOR SPECIFIC STUFF, if you deleted spybot, search for spybot, and delete every entry that shows up. Also delete any folders of spybot. Don't delete anything else.

When going into regedit, attempting to erase dead programs, only search for specific names. And make sure they are extremelly specific.

Your pc will run much faster then using a registry cleaner, since you deleted more stuff from the registry.

Hey, thanks for all the suggestions, I think I'm going to give reg mechanic a try. Ohh, and I don't have the patience for that Zellio, nor am I worried about it deleting things it shouldn't (I think I'm more than capable of fixing any screwups like that, of course those could be my famous last words, eh? haha :)).

I can recommend JV16 Powertools from Macecraft: http://www.macecraft.com/jv16powertools2006/

Fully functioning 30-day free trial. Small program, powerful, and configurable. Have used it for two years without any problems.

I have been using Registry Mechanic for over a year and have never had it delete anything that borked my system. It has a restore function if it does delete something it's not supposed to. Only paid $20 for it.

No love here for RegSupreme (30 day free trial)? I use this with NTREGOPT. I do this as recommended in TweakGuides Tweaking Companion Version 3.3 last updated 11-20-06. Also, this guide advises against using CCleaner's registry controls instead of RegSupreme or RegCleaner. Comments?

I've never had CCleaner's registry thing mess up my comp, but it does miss a lot of entries that other cleaners will pick up.
