Anyone tried this tweak? I did it, but don't know if it worked or not. Don't know if it should work with mine?

Well, I wouldn't try that tweak, don't know what it is and don't know it will actually do to a SATA drive.
If your drive is in IDE mode, you could try switching it to AHCI, and see if NCQ helps in anyway. -
This hack has been around for quite some time now (started originally in the XP+IDE era): googling. The hack's source is admittedly one of the top experts for Windows: Mr. Daniel Petri (his MS MVP profile page here); who in turn derived it from http://www.microsoft.com/israel/windowsxp/expertzone/default.mspx.
