but quality is not that good as on my iPod.

I've tested some audio enhancing software but I'm not sure if you'll notice a difference, i didn't. Try updating your sound drivers.

What EXACTLY do you mean by "enhance or process sound quality"? You should pardon the pun, but are you comparing apples to oranges? Are we talking about the EXACT same files on the IPOD and the laptop? If so what sounds different? Is it a lack of frequency response, i.e. not enough Bass, not enough Treble? Too much of either? Is it a matter of distortion? Are you listening through the same headphone on the Ipod and the laptop?

I am an audio engineer as wel as my other duties, so I might be able to help you out IF I can understand what you are trying to accomplish.

    look,

i use same headphones on both.

    i recently bought Sennheiser HD205...

they sound awesome on iPod..worth every dollar i paid.

but on lapto without using preAmp ...they sound dull.

    the Sound is not rich.

    Bass is poor,
    Treble is average.

    the Gain is very low.

u must have heard of DFX audio enhancer? ..

it brings out high fidelity of Sound through your laptop...

so i downloaded it and installed.

but sound from my laptop is Very dull still.

I mean the headphones are Really Good...but the Laptops inbuilt soundcard i.e. Conexant is producing very Dull, poorly detailed audio.

I cant hear the Lows well..

and even the Highs are not accentuated.

    the Mids are normal.

so Any software or Hack or Method to make my Laptop produce very high fidelity of music.

without using external Soundcard of course.

I have used Audio Sandbox trial version and it is what i am looking for... but it got expired.

so smthg like Audio sandbox... which is free or comes as a Free version.

    when i use Virtual DJ..

i cant hear the Lows very clearly until i Increase the Gain...but then the Bass starts Distorting.

I think ALL the problem is due to Poor Audio driver... so i need a 3rd party software to process my sound.

You need a better soundcard then if you want better quality. Software isnt going to do anything compared to an external soundcard

Part of the issue here is the gain that the built in AMP is able to produce. As I remember, those headphones have a pretty low sensitivity. That's not a slam, it just means they need a bit more power from an amp. You might try an external amp and see if that helps. Back to Sandbox. What sort of settings were you using that helped your sound?

Telling the truth, notebooks are not good in high quality sound, if you don't have a good additional sound. My proposal: use head phones, sound doesn't go through this little tiny speakers but through profesional stereo output. It helps a lot.
