Thanks for that info. I installed it last night and it did give me some information that I didn't know about. Is there any software that I can use to slow down my processor? I may be asking for too much, but I'd like to be able to slow it down once I'm running on the battery. I'm using HMonitor right now, but it's only a trial verison and I can't seem to get the throttle thing to work right, plus it's only supposed to work once your cpu reaches a certain temp. So what else is availible?

Right now I have a HP ZE5155 P4 1.8ghz, but I'm waiting on my HP ZD8000 with a P4 3.0ghz 640 HT Tech. A friend of mine here at work suggested SpeedSwitch XP or something, so maybe I'll try that out tonight.

ok, speedswitch xp is what you're looking for. the p4 doesn't have throttling capabilities.
you should also look at undervolting if you are looking to conserve battery power. -

throttling...
example: my 6000 has a 1.6 pentium m cpu. on battery it runs at 800 (half speed) to increase battery life. this is why the PM has better battery handling capabilities over the p4. -
