    Hello People,

I just got Office Ultimate 2007 through the Ultimate Steal program here.. I have a few small Q's.

    (1) I currently have office xp installed (with the sp's). Do I have to uninstall it first or is there an option while installing Office 2007 to uninstall automatically?

    (2) Do the SP's for office XP get uninstalled too? If not, should I do it manually or just leave them alone?

    (3) The Office Ultimate 2007 I got is in Italian. They could not get me the english version here through the ultimate steal program. So I got the English Language Pack along with it. For installing the Language Pack, do I just go about it after installation of Office Ult. 2007? Nothing to do inbetween?

    (4) I have got the latest SP's for both Off. Ult. 2007 (sp2) and the Language Pack (sp1). Can I just get them in once the office and language pack installations are done?

Many many thanks in advance people.

    Cheers.

I think Office Service packs and Office are linked together - both or one.

As far as I am aware you can install one over the other - it should work.
Just make sure you back up your pst file in Outlook if you use Outlook with POP.
(IMAP - not sure how you best back everything up)

The Laguage Pack is an add on that would be installed after Office is installed as far as I am aware.

    Thanks Detlev.

I'm not sure if the office sp's and office are linked.. the last time I got in Office Professional Plus 2007 onto my desktop at work, I had to get SP2 separately... anyway, let me check on that.

    I don't use outlook - so, I guess that shouldn't be a worry.

    :) Thanks again.

    Update:

Okie dokie. I installed Office Ultimate 2007 on top of Office XP. During the installation, I had the option to either leave the previous version on the laptop or remove it completely. I chose to remove it, and the installation was smooth, the previous version removed. All suite' in Office are working great.

Got in the English language pack too. No prob's with that either.

Finally, got the service pack' in and some other updates that came up in Windows Update.

    Everything is perfect now :)

PS., I've never used outlook and thought I'll try it out now... I must accept I actually like it :) Though I'm not sure if I'm going to use it regularly.. Anyways :)
