Does anybody have instructions on how to do this? The software bundled in the .exe installer polls my computer every 5 seconds or so, which can't possibly be good for battery life...

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/con..._allOS_2.1.28.1_PV.exe&lang=eng&Dwnldid=19880

    Download.

Run the exe, and extract to a folder.

Click cancel to uac prompt or kill the setup.exe

Open device manager. Right click computer and manage.

Find the unknown device or usb 3.0 device if it already has drivers. Right click and update driver. Then point to the folder you extracted earlier.

If you need a more stripped down driver i've got one on my work computer and can upload it tomorrow.

Do the Intel drivers work with all systems, or just with Intel desktop mobos?

Ah, yes, i see. I was thinking about the Intel USB3.0 drivers for series 7 chipsets rather than the ones they used for Series 6 chipset motherboards (and certain series 7 with more than 4 USB3.0).
