I have a toshiba portege 3110ct that I picked up recently at a flea market. It has Windows 98, but I want to get 2000 in it. I have the external floppy drive, but not the CD Drive. It has a USB port, but it does not support boot from USB. How can I install 2000?

Create a temporary FAT32 partition (well call it D: ). Copy the 2000 CD to a usb drive, then copy the contents of the USB drive to the temporary partition (D: ). Create a win98 boot disk. Boot from the boot disk, go to d:\i386\ run winnt.exe
