    Installing Windows 7 from USB on NEW HDD

    Hi, I am planning on buying an Acer 3820TG and I will be replacing the HDD with a momentus XT hybrid. Now my question is how will i install windows 7 as it doesnt have a CD/DVD drive and the HDD is completely new.

    Read the download guide at the beginning of this post here:

    Take note of the OEM installation instructions using ABR to backup and restore the Activation.

    Proceed to Method 2 and download the Windows 7 ISO files which you can install to a 4GB USB Flash Drive (instructions in method 2 description).

    Windows 7 will ask to format your drive if it is unformatted (I believe or you can format if from the advanced menu within the install).

    You should download all the drivers from the Acer site for your particular laptop. Windows 7 will install most all the correct drivers but the Video driver, special key functions, etc., will most likely have to installed.

    Putting it in a simple way if its possible:

    Make sure you bios has a boot option for USB HDD, and put as first priority, this is done after you have installed the ISO in the flash drive.

    There are a couple of interesting software for this, i personally use WintoFlash.
