I just ordered the Intel 525 120gb and waiting for it to arrive. I won't be cloning my current windows installation and will do a fresh install.

I have Y580 with a 1TB HDD, with all my files + programs etc.. Basically, I want to ask you if I will be doing the installation process right:

    1) Install the msata on board.
    2) Change the boot sequence in BIOS to boot from the SSD.
    3) Install Windows 7 from a USB on the SSD.
    4) Boot Windows 7 and install all drivers + apps.

Is the process right? Also I have two questions:
    • Won't I have two Windows 7 installation? Would that be a problem? Could I uninstall Windows 7 (while keeping my data files on the HDD) before I install 7 on the SSD?
    • Is their something I should do to enhance the performance of the SSD? Like installing Intel SSD toolbox and rapid technology?

    Thanks!
