Hi I tried installing Windows 8 Pro x64 with my MSDN DVD and it automatically via SLIC installed Windows 8 standard, what shipped with my computer. After doing some researching can anybody confirm adding a ei.cfg file to the sources directory will let me chose Pro and enter my key instead of automatically installing regular?
Will adding a ei.cfg that includes this, let me install Pro?

BTW this is with the straight jacket settings turned off in the BIOs. Secure Boot: Disabled; Launch CSM: Enabled.

Why reinstall? Just use the Windows Anytime Upgrade, enter your Pro serial number, and let it take care of the rest.

I've thought of that and know I could do that. But I want to double make sure I could do it this way.

MifuneT has a thread on this: http://forum.notebookreview.com/asus/698920-installing-windows-8-pro-over-standard-oem-your-new-win8-certified-notebook.html.
You're more or less spot on. -
Yeah but u don't need a 2nd disk plugged in. You can just have one ei.cfg on the install disk. You don't need one with and one without. It looks for just one ei.cfg. If it finds it on the first install disk, your good.

Good to know. I think I read that elsewhere as well, sometime after MinfuneT's thread.
