Hello Expets ..
I bought new laptop HP Pavilion DV6500, and it came with Windows Vista Home Pre., and now I am trying to install Windows XP, what I did so far is that I created a new partition to install windows XP, but now I am facing problem that when I boot from XP CD I got error message stating that No Hard Disk found! so I googled for this problem and it seems a common problem, and the proposed solution is to create a new .iso copy from XP CD and add to it the SATA Driver with it.
The problem now is that I don't know from where to get HD driver! It is listed in the Device manager that HD model is WDC WD1600BEVS-60RST0, any idea where to get it's driver?

get the SATA drivers from Intel Site , if your motherboard is intel based .
or you could just Disable AHCI in Bios and install XP then get AHCI driver and enable it back in bios -
How to Disable AHCI in BIOS? I tried to access BIOS but I could not find such option, it is BIOS version is : HP F.22, 8/17/2007.
and Yes it is Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T7500 2.20GHZ. -
If you have the above mentioned option in your BIOS, do that since it's the easiest method. If not, then get the F6 driver and integrate it as you mentioned.
The drivers can be downloaded from the chipset manufacturer (Intel in your case). Run the Intel Chipset Identification tool:
http://www.intel.com/support/chipsets/inf/sb/cs-009266.htm
Then post back. I'll look it up for you. (FYI, the chipset name will look like Intel GM965, PM965, ect) -
When run this tool downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=861&OSFullName=Windows+Vista*+32&lang=eng&strOSs=164&submit=Go%21 , I get error stating the tool does not support windows vista.

You can use CPU-Z instead of the Intel tool....
-
Board: Quanta 30CC 79.1D
Bus Clock: 800 megahertz
BIOS: Hewlett-Packard F.22 08/17/2007 -

I get the info. in my last post from Belarc Advistor.
But from CPU-Z the info. is :
Manufacturer : Quanta
Model : 30CC 79.1D
Chipset : Intel GM965 -

Great! now I have Windows XP installed, and now there are many devices have the question mark icon Device Manger, and I tried to search in Intel site for the required drivers using the motherboard model and I got this downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=2800&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Professional&lang=eng&strOSs=44&submit=Go%21#DRV
So I think what is listed in that page is not all the drivers I need, so what do you suggest me to do? -
I forgot to mention that I am using my old laptop to connect to the internet

I tried to install all the required drivers but there are still 3 devices with Yellow question mark in Device Manager :
Ethernet Controller
Modem device on High Definition Audio Bus (from properties Location : Location 65535 (Internal High Definition Audio Bus)
Unknown Device (from properties Location : on Intel(R) ICH8M LPC Interface Controller - 2815)
How to fix these? -
You'll Need this too
