If you do a clean install of Windows XP on one laptop, and swap the drive into another laptop,
will Windows XP boot and run properly on the new machine?
The laptops are similar. The source laptop is a Fujitsu Lifebook 1.2 Pentium M
and the destination laptop is a Lifebook Tablet 1.4 Pentium M
Here is the reason I want to do this.
A friend gave me an old Fujitsu tablet that has Ubuntu/Linux installed.
I want to wipe the system clean and install Windows XP.
I have a Windows XP CD but the tablet PC doesn't have a CDROM drive.
I transferred the files from the Windows XP CD to a USB key. The problem is you can't run the Windows XP setup in the Ubuntu environment and the Bios of the Tablet PC will does not support booting from a USB device.
    Thanks

    Maybe.

If it has the same chipset you have a pretty decent shot.
