Hello. I ordered an Asus Laptop last week. I was wondering if I can just reformat the HDD, and install WinXp on it...
what will the drawbacks/procedures be? I asked someone and he told me that its impossible to install XP on a Santa Rosa platform...is this true?

    Thank you.

It is possible to install XP on a Santa Rosa-based system. However, there may be issues with drivers and such.

Other than the possibilities of driver issues there shouldn't really be any other drawbacks besides the very sexy UI in Vista :p .

And to answer your question about if it's possible to install XP on a Santa-Rosa: yes, I've done it numerous times on my Thinkpads.
