    Hi i just got my v3000z today :)
    anyways it has XP home and i want XP pro.( i have the xp pro disk)
    i am currently creating system recovery disks.
    i want to install XP PRO but where do i get the drivers for the mouse and media buttons and such?
    because i heard u cannot use them w/out the drivers :confused:
    please help

    i think you can get them from the compaq website...v3000 is compaq right? or is it hp? w/e, but from the manufacturer's website.
    otherwise just call the manufacturer and ask from driver disks i think

    The Swsetup folder(C:/SWSetup) should have the installation files for every driver and software that ships with the laptop. Create a backup copy and you should be good to go with the re-installation of XP Pro.

    You might also want to check out the HP forum for guides. Look for the dv2000z re-installation guide. The same steps should apply for you as well.
