Hello hello!
I bought a Zepto 3215W laptop without Windows or anything installed. I tried to install XP but the computer tells me there's no hard drives installed. So as a total newbie regarding installing this kind of stuff I could use a bit help. I didn't get any CD with the computer where hard drive installation files should be (I guess). Is there any site on the internet where I could find the installation files and burn the files to a CD for example.
Thank you!

You need to format the hard drive, boot from the XP cd, and follow the prompts.

you could use killdisk to format the Hard drive (fyi:i've used this program myself and i really like it)..and then after that just restart the computer..make sure the xp cd is in the tray though and boot the cd. make sure it's booting from the cd though and not your formated HD. in xp though it should display a message that says "press any key to boot from cd" ..if i remember right.
if you need any more help feel free to post. -
Got it. But the problem is that it doesn't give me an option to format the hard drive or at least I don't know how to format it.

hey do you have another computer from which you can burn cd's?
-
Yeah, I do.

okay..put killdisk on the cd..i'll run ya through the steps..first go to killdisk.com right on the front page it will have a box that displays different downloads of killdisk on the right hand side (3rd one down) it says "Download bootable ISO image of Active killdisk to burn cd. download that one. save the file somewhere where youl'l have easy access to it. go through the download process
and then download Active ISO burner go to http://www.ntfs.com/iso-burning.htm ..download the ISoburner-setup package. once you got those steps done open the active iso burner and just select where you saved your active killdisk iso file.. and then just make sure you have a cd-r to burn it to and just select start burn.
but hey if anyone posts with a easier way to do this go the easier route.. this has always worked well for me though. good luck -
I found an easier way, but thank you very much, I appreciate your help!HAVE A NICE WEEKEND!
