    Using Photoshop CS or CS2 (or PS 7)
    =======================

    1.) Download the test image from http://www.quicklance.com/test.jpg

    2.) Save it to the computer and then open it up in Photoshop

    3.) From there please apply a 'radial blur' with the settings at:

    Amount = 100
    Blur Method = Spin
    Quality = Best

    Using a stop watch / ps timer see how long it takes to apply this filter

    I just want to see what these new core duos can really do.

    Please list your cpu details, amount of ram, notebook used and the time it took for the test, just so we can get an idea of how the different core duos handle this task.

    * test adapted from a different forum - if you have any suitable tests then please add to this thread *

    Well, it's not a Core Duo, but it is a 'suitable' test I believe. ;)

    AMD Athlon 64 FX-60, 2.6GHz, 2x1MB

    Using stopwatch:
    43.48 seconds

    Cheers

    Yeah, the FX-60 is the fastest current desktop CPU on the market. Not a fair comparo. ;) The Core Duo performs admirably.

    Seb, I am indeed.

    I'll fly ahead of the Core Duo everywhere else though. ;) But, that's besides the point. We need Duo scores in here. :)

    Not a core duo, not even a centrino, but a Dell Inspiron 5100 with a P4 2.4ghz and 768mb ram and Photoshop CS1

    2 min 31 sec.

    Though I want to see Sonoma based notebooks' times, so I can decide if the Core Duo are indeed worth spending for.
