It was released on Oct 2, 2006.

I was going to give the free trial download a go.

It has the following claim I found interesting (From the press release):

WinDVD 8 supports Intel® Core™ 2 Duo, allowing multitasking while playing back high-definition video/audio formats. WinDVD 8 also features Mobile Technology, which helps users extend the battery life and playback time of mobile PCs based on Intel Centrino™ processors.

    Their features page also details:

Intel® Clear Video™ and nVidia® Pure Video™ graphics acceleration for the ultimate in High-Definition Playback.

The multi-core support and native NVIDIA hardware support look really attractive.

I was wondering if anyone has given this a try end and/or purchased it and what their thoughts were?

    Thanks ...
