Hi, I have almost completed tweak out my Vostro 1500 with XP Home Edition and I just skimmed through my process list again and found something curious. The following three services:

    BCMWLTRY.EXE
    WLTRAY.EXE
    WLTRYSVC.EXE

are running. WOW!... Ok, nothing weird, until you do some research and find that they are all related to my Dell 1390 WiFi card, and are basically, I think, doing the same thing.

BCMWLTRY.EXE (the tray bar process for the Broadcom Corporation Wireless Network software)
WLTRAY.EXE (Dell Wireless WLAN Card Wireless Network Tray Applet)
WLTRYSVC.EXE (process belonging to the Broadcom Corporation Wireless Network Tray Applet, which interacts with your broadband hardware)

My 1390 is a Dell-branded Broadcom WiFi card and I have not gone to either Dell or Broadcom to get new drivers/software for this device since they were already up to date. So my question is, is it possible that Dell has its own software (tray applet) controlling the WiFi card while Broadcom has its own (two of them) also? Do I need all three of them running at the same time? They use 7,464 K, 5,424 K, and 1,644K of Mem Usage respectively.

    Any ideas/thoughts/suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Mike.

Just try disabling one of them, and if your wireless stops working, restart your computer.
