    Hi,

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I'm not sure where to put it. I have intermittent problems where my mouse input doesn't seem to register. I click and there is no effect (for both right and left mouse buttons). When I hover over certain links, I do not see the little hand icon which lets you follow the link. I'm pretty sure its not the mouse itself that is the problem since I plug it into other laptops and it works fine. Also, when the problem happens, the touchpad suffers from the same thing. Has anyone come across this before?

I'm running Windows Vista on an A8JS with most of the stock drivers installed. I don't think its a driver issue though since I have read in the ASUS forums and haven't seen this problem.

    Any advice? Thanks.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode to see if the problem happens there as well? It could be software in the background periodically grabbing all your resources and making the mouse input lag, so testing it in Safe Mode might show if the problem is a driver/software issue or a real hardware conflict.

Does the computer seem to slow down in general when the mouse problem starts? Does the cursor move around at a normal speed while the clicking and hovering are not working or does it jitter or refuse to move at times?

No I haven't tried it in safe mode. And no, it doesn't lag or slow down anytime when I use it, it just can't seem to click the "ok" or "cancel" buttons sometimes. As for the mouse model, I'm not sure but it came with the A8JS, its a Logitech M-UV55a that is rebranded as ASUS.
