    Hi All,

I am having a problem regarding Internet Connection Sharing between a Windows Vista laptop and an XP laptop. I've set up an ad-hoc wireless connection on the Vista laptop (which is plugged in by ethernet to the internet) and enabled internet connection sharing on that computer. The XP computer connects to the ad-hoc wireless network, but is unable to connect to the internet. The two computers don't even see each other on the network! Any ideas as to what I could do so that the two computers can see each other, share files, and share the internet connection? Thanks!

is there any firewall on any of the computers? you may try to disable it temporarily (only for testing purposes, turn it on again right after trying it) to see if the connection isn't blocked by it. if it is so, then it will be necessary to allow the communication.
...and if the situation won't change, at least you've eliminated one possible reason. :)

I would get your network going first before you attampt the sharing. As long as your workgroup name is the same, use DHCP to give yourself a dynamic address range and try pinging the other machine in DOS. When you can do that and your network is up and running, try the sharing.
Yes,the firewall could be in the way, make sure you disable it. Do you have more than 1 firewall going ? Make sure they're all off too.
