I already don't like it, its doesn't keep pages in the middle of my monitor, I have to emulate IE7 to keep them in the middle of the screen.
-
I'll wait until it officially comes out, i don't use it as my main browser so i don't need to know how the next version will be like right away.

Keep it on topic in here. This is a thread about Internet Explorer 8, not Firefox.

How do I go back to 7? -
-
Hmm. I've never really been a beta-user. I think I'll wait atleast until an RC is up before I give it a go.

It is an early alpha, not a beta

Can someone tell us a list of new Features in IE8 instead of claiming how bad IE is
-
Thanks! But I'll wait till the final version is out, not trying another beta..
-
Lots of features for web developers.
Looks like with IE 8 MS is going to bring their browser in line with their web design software. Everything from the browser to their web design software is compliant... it is a wonderful thing.... can't wait until IE 8 is out in force.
I've tested some of my sites and everything seems to work just fine. My CSS (100% css) sites are smoother in IE 8.
Being able to place code in the headers to render ie 7 will be great as well.
Microsoft builds some of the best products on the planet.... gotta love it. -

Man.. it doesnt even have any exciting features.. FF3 will Pwn it!
The same old Boring MS rant .. 'More Secure. More Secure. More Secure' -
If dumzilla can ever get FF to render text halfway decent they might have a product worth considering. -
haha.. i havent seen a more inaccurate post.
-
but actually, the post was right on... of course, you might like the crummy txt in firefox and think it is ok. I like for my products to be polished and professional. IE 7 and 8 provide that look for professionals. Of course, the rest of you can use whatever you want. -
a nice video that shows the new features.

Praising IE is like Praising Bush .. u always have an ulterior motive.

Has anyone had any good experiences with it?

For an alpha/beta browser (and coming from Microsoft) it handles pretty well. Should be a nice addition once it becomes final. -
If Microsoft can keep adding to the OS integration (the Aero effects, opening Office Files, etc.), I will have no choice but to switch back. That's Microsoft's one advantage, and is the one thing that they should be including in IE8.

I am using Internet explorer 8 beta and even as I type, the characters come up a lot slower, with lag,it`s freakin` weird. Also the pages are displayed all messed up. Maybe it wasn`t made wor WUXGA or it`s still missing key components...

DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!!! DANGER!!!!
There were reports over the weekend that IE8 does not play well with Windows update!!!! I can't locate the particulars at the moment, I saw the report in my newsreader last night and can't locate it now.
Here is a link I did find: IE8 breaks the web.
Apparently this is not the only page that IE8 has trouble with. HOWEVER these issues are not really IE8's fault at all. In the case of Windows update that page checks for specific version numbers of IE and does not recognize IE8. With other pages, it is a matter of IE8 now being full HTML compliant and the page itself is not.
But in all of these cases there is a button in IE8 that allows it to emulate IE7 and then all is right with the world, even those places that are not fully HTML compliant.

. IE8 beta does NOT break the web - it is standardising. Most sites r still using "poor" web languages (thanks to IE7 and earlier versions). Sites show up "Borken" because IE8 beta simply uses PURE standard web tools (FF tweaks them, Opera is slowly tweaking ...) IE8 beta will eventually "tweak" until all "broken" sites getting on the band wagon.
. windows update has some small tweak to do. Work around is (a) using IE7 emulation, (b) use the customize update and not the QuicK Update from within the update screen.
. using IE7 emulation is in many cases, slowing down the page rendering.

Didn't I say that in my note? The issues with IE8 are not because of issues with IE8, but the sites themselves.

But please, if you can't look beyond the font rendering quality, you're not qualified to talk about quality of a web browser. Stick to discussing the quality of font renderers, please.
(And yes, everyone likes nice font rendering, but if the browser itself is fundamentally broken, the look of the text doesn't make it "professional".
Anyway, as has been said before, this beta is for developers only. There is absolutely no reason to use it as a browser. Only install it if you intend to use it for web development (to fix your websites, basically) -
Bill Gates had a smart idea. That's why windows is the most widely used OS in the world. -
So how do I get rid of it? I can`t overinstal IE7 over it, sincer 8 is a newer version and this one runs like crap form some reason...
HELP -
Oh, and I assume you can just remove it like any other version of IE....through the Remove Windows Components section of the Add/Remove Programs thingy. -
No , it doesn`t work like that.
So what if it`s a Beta? Other people reported having good results with it. For me, it was a disaster. Slow, sluggish, laggy and unstable.
To remove it, check the Show updates checkbox , in control panel, add / remove programs, and somewhere in the list you`ll find Win Int Expl Beta 8...
Kill it -

Try this to uninstall. Click show updates in add/remove programs.

Would you people even bother reading the post around?
The fact is on the add about it it did not say how fast or slow it is for browsing. I had issues with security and crashes with IE7 so I figured that I might go with the Beta even if it were without some features.
Get the cork out of your arses -

Crash recovery (about time!) and Webslices (pretty cool) are new features to IE8 (that's not all of course). It should be a better browser now that it's becoming more standardized.
-
Webslices seem to be a Microsoft name for what everyone else call microformats. Well done, MS.
