lol.. and sucked life right out of any meaningful discussion on ie 8....

Interesting no one has any thoughts on IE 8 and web developers, outside of it rendering like ie 7.

Rendering like ie 7 for a site that is not ready for ie 8 will be a good thing for most developers... make life much easier. Hopefully other browsers will follow this idea so webmasters can decide which versions to show on their sites....

What are you talking about? I hear you keep on saying rendering over and over but what do you mean? IE8 will render better than IE7?

render render render ... this is an overused word here.
Rendering is of Two Types Web page based (depends on the Website developers)
& Browser based (How CSS, Javascript is handled)

    Read these two articles:

    Article no. 1

    Article no. 2

When IE7 Crashes u lose your Work, When FF crashed (it hardly does) you can Restore Session.

Its funny, tried out FF, wasn't keen for some reason... I just seem to like IE7? But the restore function after a crash is a very nice feature on FF's part. I hope they implement that in IE8.

I tried FF for a while because lots of people say its better but I had to switch back to IE as FF was not able to open many websites in my language correctly.

    www.bhaskar.com
    www.rajasthanpatrika.com

I tried all tweaks but FF failed, IE on the other hand no problems.

And speed to me is same.

    LOL

This thread is officially off topic....

@Calvin, you need to be invited to participate in the beta programs. You will receive an email like this one:

Which group of people gets to receive it, I am unclear at the moment, but most likely MSDN and Technet subscribers.

The IE7Pro add-on has a crash recovery feature. Not sure if it is like FF because I don't have it.

In any case, I'm interested in IE8.

IE7 was such a huge change over IE6, I wonder why IE8 will bring.

Now that's true! IE7 was way better than IE6, mainly due to tabbed browsing capability ?

I've always used IE. On Linux I use Opera. No FF for me :p

What I like the most about IE7 right now, it's the only one that shows my bookmarks in an acceptable size where I can actually read their names (on Opera & FF, like 1/4 of the bookmark's name is viewable).

I really like the bookmarking in IE7. I love having them right there on my window.

IE6 was AWFUL compared to 7. Everything is SO much better in 7 than it was in 6.

    Also, tabbed browsing is amazing.

Ya.. IE7Pro is an Add-on in IE7 which lets u basically restore Session same like FF.

But cause the name is so out of the box (MS is 'Sometimes' creative) & Not popularised hence no one knows..

    IE7 has many add-ons btw

It's a good topic. With IE8 and FF3 coming and all.

I think these will draw much attention for awhile.

Opera has had that since before FF2 or IE7 existed.
All the same, I might try IE8 but I'll probably just use it for windows updates
