Internet Explorer is getting there, quite impressive for Microsoft's signature web browser.

I had not seen an upgrade as big as this one since the times of old Internet Explorer 6, at least they are keeping up with the web standards now and not just staying behind every other browser out there.

Still, Microsoft should really improve on Internet Explorer's development if they hope to retain their "#1 Widely-Used Web Browser" title and not just dress up things and make them flashy. (Not implying that Internet Explorer 9 is going to be just like that.)

ActiveX is way behind now, at least...

Will have to try it when it is fully released. But the odds are slim having me switch from FF.

The only real gain I see in FF is the advertisement blocker (which actually works) without which one shouldn't wander online...

(Reason why I use FF at the moment...)

Yep. One reason why I stopped using Chrome for the time being. I also like Flashblock, eliminates auto play of Youtube videos, and I hardly ever see any Youtube ad's playing before the video.

There are ads before Youtube videos??? I've never seen them...

Neither on FF with Adblock Plus nor with IE8 on my HDD when I was using KIS (Kaspersky Internet Security)...

Auto play - don't come across these thankfully :)

    Lucky you!

Ya, they had added ad's on YT videos now. They usually run anywhere from 10-30 seconds.

Can't skip them, pause them, do anything except close the tab until they are done.

I just tried Youtube on IE9 Preview - works :)

Still no advertisement before the video.

    But it makes me wonder:
Is Flash built into IE9 or does it use IE8's Flash install?

Haha, sorry. Was a little tired and didn't feel like spelling out Youtube.

    +1 for laziness.

    I just found out...

If you force IE9 mode it doesn't know what to do with Javascript.

Google Wave doesn't work - and the menu on my Maths site doesn't either...

If you force it to use IE8,7,5 mode then it does work fine.
