I mainly use firefox but need Internet explorer to view certain class webpages for my university. I can open up interent explorer however when I attempt to go to any site or even google something it freezes and says not responding. It did this to my old computer as well. Any help would be awsome, thanks

How about try Opera. It is free as well. I use it for the few pages that don't work with FireFox.

I would try reinstalling it - go into Add/Remove programs, then hit Add/Remove Windows components, and reinstall it. See if that helps.

Allright I tried that, made sure that IE was the only program checked, it took like 10 seconds, for the bar to fill up. I then went to IE clicked on properties and saw that it modified the program today to make sure it actually did something. Clicked on the program and the same problems as before happend.

Well, if that didn't work, you could try a System Restore, and restore your computer to a point when IE was working.

If you don't have that enabled, try a Windows repair, that will replace/fix any files that are missing and/or damaged.

You just pop in the Windows CD boot up and there will be an option to do a repair installation, make sure you don't go into the recovery console. I did that before confusing the two.

Keep in mind you'll have to re-install anything you installed after the restore point.
