Hey all,
Just got my Vostro 1510. Got Firefox 3 installed. Can't find in Vista Home where the favorites folder that Firefox accesses is, or the right one anyway.
I copied the folder from my desktop computer onto a thumbdrive to transfer to the laptop. I've tried putting the file at C:> users> default> favs and at Desktop> user(me)> favs. Then launch Firefox, open bookmarks and there's nothing there.
The favs folder came from an XP OS. Is it incompatible with the Vista OS? This is my first experience with Vista, so I'm learning my way around it.
Thanks.

Firefox doesn't use the favorites folder, that is only for Internet Explorer.
It is under
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ -
The path atbnet posted is it. I just want to mention that you may also consider using MozBackup in the future. It's easier than navigating through all the folders.

OK thanks. I put everything in my favorites folder into the bookmark backups folder under "profiles" , following the path as mentioned. Still don't show up in Firefox.
Ideas?
Thanks for the help. -
Firefox doesn't use a folder, it is a single html file. You will need to your profile over.

Thanks for the help.
Found an html bookmarks file and copied it from my desktop to the laptop, then tried to import it. Still nothing in the Firefox bookmarks.
I then copied the IE favs folder contents over to the favs folder on the laptop and ran "import from IE". That did it. Then in "Organize Bookmarks" drag and dropped the items in the "imported from IE folder to the Mozilla folder and deleted the IE folder. I'm Back! I knew I was able to do it before, just couldn't remember the sequence. -
Generally what is best is to just copy the whole profile folder over and then edit the profile config file so that it points to the transported folder. Then you will have all your bookmarks and plugins from your previous computer. Glad to see you got it working.
