I am new to internet radio and know very little about it. I would like to know a good and simple internet radio player site or software that has access to a lot of stations with presets and preferably recordable.

Pandora is the one I use as well. It is a great internet radio site. Also, if you are looking for a particular song, just look on youtube.

Di.fm is good if you like the selection of music on the site.

Also check out the radio selection in iTunes.

    Check out www.last.fm

Also I doubt you will find any radio station that lets you record it directly.
