    So what's your browser? IE?
Have you tried installing 3rd party browser, like Opera, Mozilla?

Hmm..yes, you could be right. Perhaps there is a crash between IE and your Norton. My thought like that.

Internet browser freezing as in IE becoming unresponsive and you having to Force Quit it? Or are your webpages not loading?

    Hi Keith,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team responding to your post. If you have not changed the default Personal Firewall settings in Norton 360, then internet traffic should go through. I would suggest that you use our Norton Removal tool to completely remove all Norton products from your computer, and then reinstall Norton 360.

Please follow the steps below to ensure that Norton 360 is installed and updated correctly.

    1. Click on the following link to download the Norton Removal Tool:

    Norton Removal Tool and Instructions

    2. After you run the tool, please restart your computer. Then log in to Windows again and run the removal tool again. Restart your computer after it is finished running.

    3. Make sure that your internet connection is working properly, and then reinstall Norton 360. Towards the end of the installation process, the LiveUpdate feature will automatically run and download and install updates to both the program files and definition files.

    4. When the installation is complete, please manually run LiveUpdate to make sure that all of the updates are downloaded and applied. To do so, Click Start-> All Programs->Norton 360->LiveUpdate. LiveUpdate will run again and download and install any additional updates that are available. When this is complete, close the LiveUpdate window by clicking the "Finish" button.

By default, as long as you are logged in to Windows and connected to the Internet, LiveUpdate will run in the background a few times a day and automatically download and install any future updates.

Since Norton 360 has a Personal Firewall built-in, you also want to make sure that the Windows Firewall is turned off. Please check this setting in the Control Panel.

Please try this solution and reply back to this thread and let me know if it resolved your issue.

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Ref: Budding's comment

It becomes unresponisve at times and eventually the screen goes white ish then i have to bring the task manager up to get rid of the browser, otherwise you get the vista loading cursor appearing for a long time.

    Hi keith,

If you download Norton from the internet, please find the email with your order confirmation on it. There should be a URL that you need to go to to re-download the software.

After you have re-downloaded the software, please follow the instructions I posted previously to properly remove and reinstall Norton.

Please let me know if you are successful.

    Thanks,
    Mike
