For the last few years it`s getting progressively harder to manually find drivers, are they pushing their auto driver updater software, My Intel i3-4010U has HD4400 4th gen graphics according to intel white paper pdf i have downloaded when the auto updater says it`s has 3rd gen graphics, it`s manual find driver tab does not seem to have any notebook drivers at all.

Today the Intel website the frequently downloaded driver list, just gives me "page not found, on 4-5 different links"

Is anybody else sick of going round and around in circles on Intel`s website.

Post your comments below do not be frightened i will not bite :D

I had a raid issue with my older laptop and tried to find the right drivers and instructions what to do but there is little help in anything.
Asking in their support Community, they answered Intel had stopped building Mainboards in 2013 so anything provided there was just purely act of friendliness as official maintenance had ended.
    Disappointing, yes.

I have similar complaints although not just regarding finding drivers manually but also via their software.
Like you I'm having a problem with Intel integrated graphics (which are all called Intel HD graphics to make it even harder to find the right one).
I have been unable to find one that works manually - sure I found Intel HD graphics driver - lots of them, just not the right ones.
Annoyed I used their updater and ended up being served driver series 15.X which did not even install correctly because - as it turns out - it did not support this particular HD graphics used in my Atom. It turns out there is a new driver for my card, and a recent one at that (Dec 15) but it's 10.18 series.

I'm sure that I would be able to find it eventually on Intel website but I used station-drivers.com instead and it took maybe 2 minutes fo find the right one. It's odd that even Intel's own updater couldn't find the right driver.

It would be much easier if these integrated drivers used names like "Intel HD graphics 4000 series" and so would driver packages, or like any other sensible company Intel would release just one driver pack for all series.

Either way, I have never had more trouble updating a driver from an official website or through an official update app than with Intel.

    Yeah, I totally agree downloads.

The driver updater app says it has an new graphics driver, yet it is older than the one i am using.

Intel graphics are light years better than they use to be for gaming (25+ years of experience), almost every game works and with a little bit of tweaking can run at an acceptable at frame-rate at least for me.

Trying to find chipset software is fun as well.

It is confusing, even version # are confusing and the dates are messed up. For example I have XXXX graphic driver installed on my system on let's say 10/1/15, I go to Intel download on 11/15/15 and the same XXXX driver release date is 11/1/15 . I know for sure I didn't download my driver from beta site. Did they updated driver without changing the version? How could my driver be installed on my computer a month before it's release date? I don't even bother with chipset and wifi, can't figure which one is right and all seems to be working fine. I think they have so many versions and types of hardware, they're confused themselves.

I had the same problem and agree: for older driver in particular, it's genuinely dire.

These days I use 'driver identifer', which identifies which drivers are missing or out of date and provides direct download links from the manufacturers website. It's been a while since I've had to update a Windows system that uses Intel HD graphics but that app finds drivers for just about everything else, so it's probably worth a shot.

I agree, finding drivers on Intel's website is horrendous. If I needed the latest Intel driver for something I tend to have a look at station-drivers which even though it's in French, it at least gets straight to the point with the specific driver rather ending up in some trivial specsheet info on the Intel site (and even if you do get the download it probably be the wrong one!).
