    Hey all,

My FF freezes about every 10 minutes (happens when i change pages or scroll through them), and crashes about twice a day (too bad error reporting to microsoft is off on this machine!).

Anyway, am I alone in this. Yes, i have the latest version of FF running, with most/all XP patches (incl. SP2).

i have about 400 mb of RAM left out of a gig, and CPU usage doesn't spike too much during the freezes. i can still work on other things (including load the same page in IE and do some additional link clicking). whatever error messages i should get, well...I'm not getting them (except for the "Firefox is not responding...click END NOW"

What bothers me is that I'm getting this on two computers!

Hm, weird. My notebook and my old desktop (500mhz with 128 MB of RAM) has no problem running Firefox. Maybe there is software conflict?

You know, I have not had problems with it freezing, but I have noticed that firefox has begun to crash once in a while (it never did it before). I wonder if its just a bug with the last update or something.

Aren't you running JAVA? Java initialization used to freeze pages when loading, but not when scrolling though...

Yeah, my Firefox was crashing quite regularly a while back. It was really annoying, so I started trying to use Opera 9 (I'd used Opera 8 for a while before), but for some reason a lot of websites I regularly visit weren't showing up properly in Opera, so I switched back. But yeah, the latest versions of Firefox have been quite disappointing. I actually use IE7+ in Vista exclusively. I have Firefox installed, but IE7+ just seems faster and more reliable, not to mention I prefer the UI. IE7 looks fantastic in Vista (pretty lackluster in XP IMO). Version 1.0.7 was the last release I really completely liked. Version 1.5 is much more unstable in my opinion. I can't remember ever having a crash in 1.0.7. But then again, I've never had a crash with Firefox 1.5 in Linux, so I don't know what the problem is.
