I've updated to the latest iTunes, but Windows still automatically switches over to the Windows Basic theme everytime I open the app. Is this normal? When will iTunes be Aero compatible? And if it already is, am I missing something?
Thanks guys

As far as I know it is Aero compatiable but iTunes has some real issues on Vista at least so it wouldn't surprise if this is another one to add to the list.
-
Aside from the performance relates issues mentioned in the other iTunes thread from today, I don't have any other problems - and certainly nothing that appears to be Aero related.
-
iTunes does not appear with clear-glass borders, but if you have the Aero desktop appearance with transparency enabled, iTunes should not make Vista switch to the Vista Basic theme.
-
Just wondering, Whats your Windows Experience rating?
-
iTunes works fine here (though my install is slightly modified to run only iTunes and not all the other useless crap that comes with it ^^;; )
-
I wonder if the other stuff makes a difference :s
-
BTW, I dont have any problems running iTunes. iTunes doesn't adapt the aero theme, it forces the Mac OS X theme on itself.
-
How do you mean Itchy?
-
You aren't running a 64bit version of Vista are you? iTunes has 'issues' with 64bit Vista.
-
I'm running 32-bit.

I dont see why it would change to the Windows Basic theme..
This is what iTunes is supposed to look like. You dont have the option to make it adapt any other skin than this:

Its the Mac OS X Theme -
like he said, sluggish but works ;0 -
Itchyman that's like iTunes 4 or something in the screenshot lol. I don't think it's iTunes 7.6
-
They all look the same, regardless. Thats how my iTunes 7.6 looks like
-
(And I'm running Vista Premium w/aero)
-
Hmm are you sure? Mine looks nothing like that :s
-
Yep. Here's a screen shot of my iTunes and my start menu that I just took (I prefer the classic menu.)

That's the same as mine O_O
-
wtf you mean the previous one looks nothing like it?
Its exactly the same, its just the windows version as opposed to the mac one.
iTunes will not adopt the aero interface PERIOD. Just accept it. -
Right? I'm absolutely confused.

Sherman90 and others --
I had the same problem, actually, until I realized that long ago, when I was (foolishly) trying to get iTunes to work on 64-bit Vista, I had stated that iTunes should start in XP SP2 compatibility mode, which disables Aero. I shortly thereafter removed iTunes from my system.
This week I installed the 64 bit compatible iTunes that came out a while back, and had the same problem as you. As it turns out, there must have been some preference file or something left over, b/c it defaulted to compatibility mode, and Aero was disabled each time. Right clicking on the itunes.exe file and disabling compatibility mode did the trick for me.
Hope this helps.... -
I have no problems running iTunes on Vista Ultimate 64-bit. Although I personally prefer syncing my iPod in Winamp!
