    Safari from my experience...
Fast as hell to open webpages, surfing...
    Easy to look at
    Annoying as hell

The annoying as hell is...When you first download the browser, it takes less then 1 second to open up the browser and land on your home page (mine being google) so you can start searching right away. Well after about 2 weeks it starts slowing down a lot...After 2 weeks of surfing my browser takes about 5-8 seconds just to open but after that its just as fast as it was before.

As long as you have 1 browser open, you can open another one in less then 1 second...But to open the first one, it takes 5-8 seconds.

To resolve this issue I know you can reset the browser and delete cookies and such but thats one of my most important things to browsing. I love having passwords saved, usernames, and other things so I don't want to take that option...I could switch browsers but I hate all the other browsers.

My question is basically...Is there anyway to have Safari.Exe running in the background at all times so when I do open this browser when its time to surf it opens in less then a second? I don't care about how much memory it uses or anything else...I just want to know if you can and if so, please let me know =)

    Will give rep points

    Thanks

Ps. I don't need to hear about why I shouldn't use Safari. Thanks though =)

Sounds like what you are looking for is an application hiding program. There are a number out there for Windows, such as Hide Any Window.

Of course, an alternative is to just keep the browser window minimized.

    Thanks

I just found an easy solution which I don't know if it will work for everyone but try deleting the history. I had a month of history and deleted it all and it now opens in less then a second just like before!

    have to mention this:

osx does it by default :)

if you close the window, the application is still loaded into memory.

Yeah, I don't use safari anymore since it stores user data in a very stupid way and traverses through it with the most inefficient linear algorithm ever invented.
I've switched to Firefox 3 with the Brief extension and it's great. Maybe a second slower than Safari on initial start, but definitely doesn't slow to a crawl after a few week's use.

I don't know what you mean by this but if you mean it deletes history then Safari does it to if you set it to do so.

I believe he's saying that in a MAC OSX Safari runs constantly whether it is in use or not.

Mac owners love to gloat. ;)
