I just heard that XP can only handle 1 GB of RAM, no matter how much your notebook can handle. Is that true?
-
no........
-
Who told you that? -.-
-
Not at all. Running it right now with 2 GB. It'll max out at about 3.25 GB (32-bit) but you could theoretically have 48 GB in the machine and it would still run fine, it just won't recognize it all.
Windows 98 is limited to 1 GB IIRC (though up to 1.5 GB is possible in some cases), but new machines won't have Windows 98. -
Go kick whoever told you that.
-
No. Whoever told you that is full of ****
-
98 (and 95 and Me) are limited to 512MB.
-
Wrong XP 32bit can handel 4GB and XP 64bit can handel 48GB
-
can handle 4gb but not actually use it and see it
