    Hello.

I just bought a dv6000t with an 2 Duo processor and I want to buy Norton Systemworks Premier but I read that this software is not design for 64 bit hardware and that they do not have anything for them, so which software should I get ? Is Norton really that good ?

    thanks

There is almost no 64-bit software for the consumer market available. You will simply have to wait for a while, before software of that nature starts to appear. Also, Norton products are very resource hungry and will no doubt slow down a computer quite a bit.

IMHO Norton is crap. :p I would just get some free programs like:
    AVG anti-virus
    Zone Alarm firewall
    Windows Defender
    Ad-aware SE personal

Those programs will protect your laptop and they are all free.

IMO Norton is crap. it slows down your computer, it hogs resources, and it makes you HAVE to buy norton every single time some problem or w/e happens

I just downloaded and tried Tuneup Utilities trial version. Looks like a pretty good maintenance suite and a good alternative to Systemworks that I might purchase for my notebook, but not to be confused with security software, i.e. no antivirus, firewall, or spam blocker.

Most AV/Firewalls will not work on 64-bit Vista since they cannot modify the kernel on the 64-bit version. Now the good news is you probably don't need an AV on 64-bit Vista, and I am sure they will eventually figure out how to write software without modifying the kernel.
