Will I have trouble running steam on my windows 8.1 laptop? I'll be downloading and playing MW3 from there and just want to know if it's compatible with windows 8.1. On their website it says it supports only windows XP, vista, and windows 7.

What is the "it" that supports only (I will be looking for the word "only") windows XP, vista and windows 7?

Windows 8.1 is my preferred OS for my Steam Box. It runs every game i've purchased from Steam without any issues. The best thing about Windows 8.1 is that it looks like a gaming OS. :)

I received my laptop but it has the Nvidia 332.50 drivers, is it mandatory that I need to update them? Will I encounter any problems down the road if I don't? If an update is require, how do I perform the update?

What's that saying, "if it ain't broke don't fix it"? You don't have to update yor Nvidia drivers if you don't want. It's strictly up to you. Most driver updates target specific games and they try and improve performance and go after graphical bug fixes. If the games you play look fine then why update? Updating the drivers, especially Nvidia drivers are easy peazy. I forget with which release it started but the newer Nvidia drivers will tell you when a new update is available and walk you ru the steps to upgrade the drivers.

The newer Nvidia drivers even AUTO ADJUST performance levels depending which game you are playing.
