Alexa is a datamining service that tracks your web usage and reports it. Check out:

Ya, I would be weary of it, anything like that... But also remember that just because a spyware/adware program picks it up..doesn't mean it's malicious 100%. Infact these programs have been known to make mistakes and delete legitimate files from time to time. Virus checking is less likely to faulter IMO, but even it errs on the safe side when it comes to these things. The fact is..there's no consistent definition for spyware/adware that is universal amongst all the program providers. Most of this is because it's still new and ever evolving.

The Alexa toolbar is definitely spyware though; it collects your personal information, though they might not act upon it immediately, they would accumulate a database of info about you.. probably not a good thing in any case.

It's not *dangerous* as far as I know, but it's definitely spyware, and I'd get rid of it.

AFAIK, not dangerous. Tracks surfing and compililes internet stats with it.
