Snippet Tools take three steps it seems to capture and save. While on Mac you can do ALT shift 4 which is very fast and convenient.

[Print Screen], then open MS Paint, right click and Paste.

With Windows 8/RT Tablets we hit the Windows Button...Volume Down and get a screen shot saved in the Picture Library

I just Ctrl + PrtSc, paste into MS Paint (or whatever your favorite editor is), select the area I want, then crop. Technically four steps, but it's still pretty fast.

Print Screen key captures everything visible. Alt + Print Screen captures the window in focus. From there you can paste it into paint and then save it as whatever image file you like.
If you want something more streamlined, try Greenshot. -
Also, the Snipping Tool is standard on all versions of Windows which gives more control of what you capture....
