Works and Outlook Express you can delete through add/remove. Outlook Express is your basic e-mail/newsgroup program and is insignificant as far as memory requirements. You can also delete some programs thru the Windows features removal tool.

Yes it is. I took this from the Microsoft faq:

    "Removing Windows Defender
    Q. How do I remove Windows Defender?
    A. To remove Windows Defender from Windows 2000 or Windows XP:

    1. On the Start menu, point to All Programs, and then click Windows Defender.

    2. Exit Windows Defender. (Click the arrow next to the help icon and point to Exit Windows Defender).

    3. On the Start menu, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.

    4. Click Windows Defender.

5.Click Remove, and then in the dialog box that follows, click Yes."

I hope that solves your problem.

No, not at all. Do you need to know how to disable UAC?

vlite will remove any unnecessary Vista components that you dont want. But use it with care as removing too many things might cause system instability. Remember to read the forum.

    vlite.net

This method helps you in creating a clean Vista OS DVD with only the component you want hence, you will need to do a fresh install afterward.

I was looking for a way, or a program that could completely delete them. I dont want to use vlite. I would be very happy since I have a 32gb SSD. Every little bit helps :D

As far as I know Windows Defender in Vista is uninstallable. You can turn off the service if you don't want it.

Windows Defender is not unstable under Vista. I don't believe Microsoft would make a product that's not compatible with their own programs. Heck the previous versions of Works and Streets and Trips works flawlessly with Vista
