So I noticed that my Bluetooth mouse does not last very long with the two batteries inside of it and I was wondering if there was an application that turned off the bluetooth mouse after 1-5 minutes of inactivity.
Thanks in advance

Your mouse is supposed to do just that by itself. The battery in the Bluetooth mouse I am using in my other office typically lasts a few weeks.

Right. The vast majority of battery operated peripherals have a bult-in power saving feature. Usually, after just a couple of minutes, the mouse goes on standby. When you click one of the mouse buttons or use the wheel, then the mouse wakes up. What mouse do you use? -
It's a cheap white flat bluetooth mouse I bought from eBay for a couple of bucks, I wanted to try out Bluetooth and see if it was for me.
To be honest, I switched back to a wired standard mouse and haven't really regretted it. -
As a side note, my Logitech wireless mouse lasts months with one AA battery.

Lol. So what they tout is true? I'm always skeptical of the claim on battery efficiency they advertise.
An [advertised as] Apple mouse? Not Rocksoul brand, by any chance...? -
The battery life on my M185 is rated at 1 year, but some quick math after 11 months of use says it should at least approach the 2 year mark for me. I make sure to switch it off when I'm not using it.

Hey, I never switch mine off. Maybe that's why I get months and you get years.

Well on my M$ Bluetooth 5000 mouse there is a off/on button in it physically to turn it off when I am transporting the laptop and mouse from work back to home to save on battery. Also I have W7x64Ult Sp1 and in Device Manager it does give the O/S the option to turn off power to Bluetooth when not in use. So there are more then one way to turn off a Bluetooth device other then the physical off/on button on the Bluetooth. But Bluetooth themselves have a built in power mode that should turn off and on when you move the Bluetooth mouse keeping the connection alive. But with the Dell Bluetooth and M$ Bluetooth mouse I don't experience drop connections unless the battery is low.
Is there an application that will turn off a bluetooth mouse after a certain amount of time?
