I find myself using imageshack.us A LOT for uploading my desktop or parts of my desktop to either forums or to friends, but it is quite a hassle.

My current method is to press print screen>open up paint>paste>save>open imageshack.us>browse>then paste link to friend or forums.

I came across imageshack.us's standalone app "ImageShack Uploader" which allows me to drag my SS to there and upload to their servers getting a link which is a little more helpful, but I still have to open up paint and save. I am looking for something that takes the SS with, then uploads it to their server and providing me the links all in one app. Does anyone know such a thing?

Extra info: I am also aware of snipping tool, which is even easier to save to desktop, but I am so used to pressing the print screen button, that I never use it. Lol.

Came across Zscreen playing around with it. Seems to be what I want. If anyone knows alternatives, feel free to post.

EDIT: Eh, can't really do anything once the screenshot is taken...can't choose if you want link to forum, or anything, just copies direct link to clipboard, have to pre-choose what you want.

On Vista and Windows 7, you can also use the " Snipping Tool" ("SnippingTool.exe") to easily create a screenshot of the desktop, a window, a rectangular or freeform piece of your dekstop and save it as PNG, JPG, GIF or HTML. That wouldn't help you with uploading, but I thought I'd write anyway since it's a handy tool that's installed on every default Vista and Windows 7 installation and can come in very handy at times.

Edit: Also, in Windows 7, there's " Problem Steps Recorder" (psr.exe), which can be used to create tutorials or, well, create a visible log of your actions in case of a problem so others can better help you. It records your clicks and actions in screenshots.

Yeah, I already know about snipping tool, I mentioned it in my first post. And, not quite looking for something like problem steps recorder. Strictly screenshots, and uploading in one app. Zscreen does it, just not quite to my liking. ;p

I'm sure someone in this world has been in my dilemma, and made a app. for this. Simple and easy app.

Oh, I'm sorry, I read your post but didn't see the last line. Somehow I automatically filtered it as belonging to your signature.

The problem is your choice of image hoster. You are limited by their limitations.

You cannot simply ask someone to invent a way to do something that violates the procedures they have in place, so you need to work with the tools they have.

What I would do if I were you is use the snipping tool, then use FILE > SEND TO and utilize the quick send feature of imageshack.

You will need a pop account and a default email client.

Or, maybe use the picassa plugin....

I don't have to use imageshack, but I'm just used to it. If there is another image host site that allows me to do what I want, that is fine.
I see exactly what you are saying, and that is what I assumed to, but Zscreen(the app I mentioned in post #2) allows me to upload image to ANY image hosting site such as imageshack, twitpic, flickr, imagebin, etc. I can also add in the image host site if it's not included in the app. Playing with it around even more, I'm liking it a whole lot and it's pretty much exactly what I am looking for, just a minor thing I don't like about pre-selecting how I want the picture to be formatted as. I guess Zscreen will suffice!

hah.. uploadscreenshot.com is way easier than that. it's just printscreen>paste... that's it. just go to the site and hit the paste button and it takes the screenshot from your clipboard and uploads it to the site. also gives you a nice bbcode.

    hope this helps!

Nice. That takes the middle man out of the equation.

FYI: You can take a screenshot of just whatever program you're in by hitting Alt+PrtSc. You don't need to use the Snipping Tool or another program for that.

McGrady - you may want to check out SnipTo.net

The uploadscreenshot.com someone mentioned is pretty cool. But you may want to post lossless png images instead of jpg and sometimes it's nice to have the files archived locally.
