I intend to buy Asus N50, with 4G ram and vista 23 bit. Is there any way to change OS into vista 64 for free or I have to buy a new vista 64 and throw the 32 one away?
since it is not a costume laptop, I can't choose vista 64 for extra cash or for free before purchasing it. I just have to buy it that way.

It's the same serial for x32 and x64 so you will need a Windows Vista x64 Anytime Upgrade dvd. It wasn't easy buying the x64 Anytime Upgrade dvd but i got it by:

    - Called microsoft customer service, they had no idea what a x64 dvd was so they switched me to another office

    - Then i got switched around most of the Europe offices since nobody knew what a x64 dvd was

    - Finally i got switched to the windows anytime upgrade office in Holland (Netherlands) and after 2 days of explaining what i wanted and supplying my product key for hp oem vista business x32 they sent me a x64 Anytime Upgrade dvd for $10

I'm not sure you can buy the anytime upgrade dvd's anymore but give it a try. As you see in my sig i installed the x64 anytime upgrade on my desktop that had oem vista business x32.

AFAIK switching from Vista 32bit to x64bit is pretty simple , here are few options

    1. Ask you manufacturer for x64bit version of you vista flavor (thats is Vista home premium x64 if you bought it 32bit home premium)

    2. Get the DVD from Microsoft shipped to you for Just 10$

Thank you both stefan and vinum, so the serial is used for both 32 and 64. but the purchasing of this anytime upgrade should be difficult. so, I wonder, can't I search for that DVD any where on the net or just use any hacked vista 64 formatting my laptop applying my 32 genuine serial, and thus my vista would be legal!
if it's that easy, I shouldn't matter buying the laptop with 32 and doing that stuff later!

I wouldn't recommend downloading Vista ISO from Internet as its illegal as well as might have Virus or malwares in it , so beware mate :D

But this would be the only chioce I have! If I don't find the upgrade DVD here in Midle East, as the shipping is not an option to here, and it will cost much, may be another 40 $.

Vinumsv has already warned you about a downloaded ISO and I'll do it again.
    Don't. Just don't do it.
Why take a chance with possibly installing one of the most recent rootkits and/or trojan and thereby changing your new notebook into part of a botnet?
    It's really not worth it.
    Cheers.

    Ok! you are right!
I will look for the upgrade DVD first in KSA & Egypt.
But what if I had a legal Vista 64 CD should it work with my serial, or it is sticked to it's own dedicated serial.
Or may be I can change the serial later after installing OS, am I right?
I can easliy find Vista original CD but with black listed serial, if vista is not different than XP!

Yes any Vista x64 DVD you find will be able to work with your serial.

im in a slightly similar situation
umm...if i use anytimeupgrade, will i get a x64 vista with all drivers for my particular laptop with it or will i have to search around for drivers and OEM software as i would if it were a blank pc with a market bought version of the vista dvd?

You will have to get the drivers from your notebook's manufacturer.
