Hey I am buying a Vaio SZ series I love the laptop but it has one flaw for me it dosen't have a scrolling feature one the touchpad. Is there any software I can get to get my pad to scroll?
-
I don't think so.
-
Install the Synaptics touchpad driver.
-
Does the SZ series use the Synaptics touchpad? If not, will this driver work with whatever touchpad the SZ uses?
-
Oh, Sorry. I assumed it uses Synaptics, since all other major manufactures do
. Anyways I found out that it uses an ALPS touchpad instead (Sony and its non standard devices....
).
Anyways, you can find the ALPS touchpad deriver under Vaio SZ downloads section : Direct Link. -
My Toshiba uses the Alps touchpad, too.
-
pfft Alps is pretty standard my laptop has a Elantech touchpad a company i have never heard of before
-
I wonder if that driver supports/enables the scrolling mousepad feature. Hopefully an SZ user can comment on this for the OP.

The Alps touchpad on the Vaio SZ does have horizontal and vertical scrolling, but the driver must be installed first. I tested many different Alps drivers on my SZ and found that these two provided the most customizable settings. They are better than what Sony provides.

Is there anyway to get scrolling on my mousepad?
