I've been a Vista user for, oh, 3 or 4 weeks now, and last night, it finally happened. That's right folks. I got my first "Black Screen of Death"! The battery was running low on my laptop, so I plugged in the power supply, and for some reason, the display started to fade. I didn't know what was happening until suddenly.....BLACK SREEN OF DEATH!!!111!!! Heh, I least I now know that my new Windows OS is working properly! Crashes are a standard and much celebrated feature of MS' software after all, lol! ;)

Joking aside, I would like to add that I love Vista, have really enjoyed using it, and wouldn't change go back to XP in a month of Sunday's. It really is a fantastic OS, this minor and isolated setback aside.

2 BSODs...though that was Norton's fault. MS Office is freezing up but I need to install some updates that are guaranteed to solve the problem.

Vista is still just a baby. Expect problems to pop up that couldn't be duplicated by the many, many beta testers. That's what Windows Update is for, right? Also, check your hardware vendor sites frequently for updated Vista drivers, and visit the software vendor sites for critical Vista updates.

The same thing happened when XP was released.

    I haven't had a BSOD yet. But I'm running 64bit Vista.
