When i try to install the new version of itunes i get this error message when the installation process is up to the registry bit.

"Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\Interface\{915DA835-02FE-4953-92FA-624BDF5D85AB}\ProxyStubClsid. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."

I have no idea what this message is referring to but i have a hunch that it may have something to do with me having used regseeker once without knowing that it doesnt work well with vista.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem and install itunes would be greatly appreciated.

I would download cCleaner, install and run the registry cleaning option. Then first remove the iTunes and re-install it

    cheers ...

Tried uninstalling it but it won't let me. I get the same error message when I try to uninstall.

I'm just going to delete the itunes folder from program files in C drive and see if that works.

If anyone has an alternative option or knows what is wrong...please let me know.

edit: tried deleting the itunes folder in program files and still same error message when in install. I also get the same message when i install the previous version (8.0.1).
