    Hey there,

I found a couple of Java apps I'd like to try. They require the Java VM to be installed. I'm thinking about installing the official one from Sun on my Win7 machine. Once you install the VM does it have anything running in the background at all times, startup processes at log-in, or anything of that nature? Or does the VM only run when you're running a Java app?

make sure to remove the java updater from machine startup, other than that, you're good.
