    Hello all,

Need the expertise help of nbr users.

Have tried everything to no avail but have my clevo notebook (see Sig for specs) running win 7 64bit and for some reason I cannot run websites in Firefox with Java.

I have installed reinstalled Java several times no luck. Reinstalled Firefox tried old versions still no luck.

However, Java with internet explorer works no probs but not with Firefox.

Aside from a reinstall of windows any ideas??

    Tia

First, Java and Javascript are 2 very different things. So either your title is incorrect, or you misstated your questions. Which is it?

How is JavaScript different from Java?
    http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_javascript.xml

"Key differences between Java and JavaScript: Java is an OOP programming language while Java Script is an OOP scripting language. Java creates applications that run in a virtual machine or browser while JavaScript code is run on a browser only. Java code needs to be compiled while JavaScript code are all in text."
"The JavaScript programming language, developed by Netscape, Inc., is not part of the Java platform.

JavaScript does not create applets or stand-alone applications. In its most common form, JavaScript resides inside HTML documents, and can provide levels of interactivity to web pages that are not achievable with simple HTML.

Key differences between Java and JavaScript:
    • Java is an OOP programming language while Java Script is an OOP scripting language.
    • Java creates applications that run in a virtual machine or browser while JavaScript code is run on a browser only.
    • Java code needs to be compiled while JavaScript code are all in text.
    • They require different plug-ins.
For additional information about JavaScript, visit Mozilla.org "

Here are 2 potential solutions, depending on which you are really talking about. Search on the Mozilla support site if these aren't enough, and google as well for 3rd party answers.

I can't get javascript enabled using the normal process on Firefox 40.0.2. How can I do this?

Use the Java plugin to view interactive content on websites
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-java-plugin-to-view-interactive-content

If you have the Mozilla Add-on "NoScript" you need to enable each site, file, etc as exceptions to allow.

    Is Java installed?

    Well,

    I have made some progress.
I installed 32bit version of Java script and now firefox java and javascript works.

However, a website I frequently visit still has issues with the javascript so I can only speculate its a certain website javascipt bug and not a widespread issue.

Yeah will do but the bug still exists.
Keep getting JavaScript (0) void in both internet explorer and Firefox.

    I think Windows is stuffed.

Have you contact the creators of JavaScript? Java from Oracle isn't the same as JavaScript. And if your having problems then you need to contact JavaScript support to look into the problem.
