    hey , im looking to speak to Jmhal very badly about my dv6000

    i have the same problem as this guy

    i know thats the problem and i have to install that patch, the only thing is im running vista ultimate and the patch does not support it and ive tried and the sound still wont play through speakers but does through external speakers/headphones,
    if i fix this problem i will be very greatfull and money might be involved :D

    I responded to you in a PM as but i'll post it here if you didn't see it

    I would try this new (from last May) audio driver for Vista here

    I couldn't find much more on this, but you could also try(if the above doesn't work) going to the device manager go to sound, video and game controllers, right click on conexant High definition audio and click uninstall to uninstall the driver, restart windows and let it install whatever driver windows finds on reboot and see if that does the trick. or could also cancel the wizard that comes up and install the above driver (if one method doesn't work try the other)

    also, I know you shouldn't double post but this would probably be better off in the HP section, just with a different title, so the people who know the definite answer can respond.
